CHANGING THE DENIM WORLD / Denim Consulting

 What does sustainable mean?

 “Contuct us for Sustainable Denim Consulting

‘Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability  of future generations to meet their own needs’

               BruntlandPolitician and sustainable development leader”

First of All, we still lack the know-how and technologies to be  100% sustainable; but we are already doing a great deal and we can move forward

Ⓣ By reducing the water consumption required by treating garments

Ⓣ Secondly, By reducing the temperatures , required energy and  co2 emissions

Ⓣ By using chemicals with lower environmental impact

What will be the current projects for denim washing?

Ⓣ Reduction of Washing and Drying Process

Ⓣ Recycling of Steam / Water

Ⓣ Create washed look over denim  by laser

Ⓣ Create bleached look by wet ozone process

Ⓣ Using eco-sustainable chemicals

Ⓣ Using less water by nano-bubble technology

ECO-SUSTAINABLE CHEMICALS – Sustainable Denim

So, using these products means;

Ⓣ  Heavy metals free

Ⓣ  Formaldehyde free

Ⓣ  Permanganate free

Ⓣ  Halogen – Derivatives free

Ⓣ  No pumice Stones “because of  the muds its generates, high transport costs, the environmental impact and tear of machiner”

Ⓣ  To produce that are highly bio-degrable

Ⓣ  To products with low toxicity

NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE WASHING / Sustainable Denim Consulting

 LASER TECHNOLOGY

  * It is a computer controlled process for denim fading.  This technique enables patterns to be created such as lines and/or dots, images, text or even pictures.

  * So It is water free fading of denim. Being an automatic system, chances of human error are slim

   Certainly, Replacing Traditional Technique for Denim Finishes;

Ⓣ The laser technology is the fastest growing technique presented by many companies as a perfect replacement for traditional methods of scraping, stone washing, damaging, etc.

Ⓣ The various laser techniques available in the industry are considered a much safer, environment friendly, economical and superior technology that has advantages that offers not only aesthetic variation. But also gives freedom to designers to innovate at quick speed saving critical commercial time in product development and crucial cost during production.

OZONE TECHNOLOGY

This technology allows significant water and energy usage reduction. It also eliminates the need of toxic processes such as bleaching and permanganate usage.

By using the air from the atmosphere, ozone machines reproduces ozone gas conditions to give garments the real look of outdoor usage.

NANO BUBBLE TECHNOLOGY

Also, This technology gets the air from the atmosphere and transforms it into nano-bubbles.

These bubbles consume minimum proportions of water and functional elements, that are then carried on their surface, in an optimal and efficient way.

With this method; we can create resin applications, bleaching, water repellency, softening, enzyme

Finally,By this method savings up to;

-%95  water

-%50 chemicals

-%80 energy

Consequently, Lets compare water consumption with a traditional and sustainable enzyme bleach process;

Ⓣ TRADITIONAL WAY

Desıze 400 lt

Rins     400 lt

Enzyme 400 lt

Rins      400lt

Bleach 600 lt

Rins     400lt

Neutralization 400 lt

Rins 400 lt

Rins 400 lt

Softening 400lt

Consequently, TOTAL AMOUNT 4200 LT

Ⓣ SUSTAINABLE WAY

Desize with ozone  0 lt

Ezyme with nano bubble technology 40 lt

Rins 400 lt

Bleach with ozone 0 lt

Rins 400 lt

Rins 400 lt

Softening with nano buble technology 40 lt

1280 lt

Each production load water saving is 2920 lt.

Consequently,,Nearly %70 water saving.

Benefits of Sustainable Denim Production

As a result, finishing garment companies will benefit in both economical and environmental aspects. So, the use of the e-flow technology will derive in a significant reduction of use of resources: water use reduction up to 98%, energy use reduction up to 47% and elliminate chemical wastes associated to water dumping, all of them involved in garment finishing processes.

Results

Finally, Reduction of 98% of water used in finish garment processes. (Savings of 5 million m3/year in Europe)
• Reduction of 47% electric consumption (savings of 80 MWh/year in Europe)
• Elimination of water wastes and the associated chemical wastes to the environment. Through the use of the exactly quantity needed for the process.
• Three versions of the technology have been installed and have been validated at real industrial scale in different processes and markets.
• Conditioning technology has been adapted to other specific textile finishing processes. like exhaustion (durable water repellence, wrinkle-free, 3D effects, over-dye, tie dye…). For the reason that Treated garments had been characterized using different standards (3M method for Water repellency, AATCC D118 for Oil repellency…) advanced techniques such as scanning electronic microscopy and results are good. Even better than the traditional techniques. Moreover, important savings (up to 95% for softening processes) in CO2eq emissions had been estimatedMNB Eco-finishing project has permitted to launch to the market three different machines that can perform. Finally, By means of nano-bubble technology, traditional finishing operations such as softening, resin application or dyeing.
